Evan Longoria Goes Deep Thursday
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria clubbed his ninth home run of the season on Thursday in the 9-6 loss to the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers to start the second half of the season. He finished the contest 1-for-4 with the solo shot and is now hitting .245/.331/.469 with an .800 OPS, nine homers, 19 RBI and 20 runs scored in 163 plate appearances over 47 games in his fifth year in San Francisco. The 36-year-old veteran has missed time due to injuries this year, but he's been solid for fantasy managers when healthy. However, in seven games in July, he's gone 5-for-26 (.192) with his lone homer coming Thursday night. Fantasy managers will be hoping that his homer on Thursday will jumpstart him in the second half.
