Yusei Kikuchi Making Rehab Start Friday
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays left-hander Yusei Kikuchi (neck) will start his minor league rehab assignment on Friday by starting for Triple-A Buffalo. Kikuchi has been on the injured list since July 6 with a neck strain. He's expected to throw around 75 pitches for Buffalo. It's unknown how many rehab starts the Jays want him to make before they return him to their starting rotation, but the 31-year-old southpaw hasn't been great for fantasy managers in 2022 in his first year in the American League East. Kikuchi has gone 3-5 with a 5.12 ERA and 1.57 WHIP while walking 41 and striking out 74 in 65 innings over 16 starts. His walks-per-nine mark of 5.7 is the highest in his four-year MLB career.
