Yankees, Aaron Judge Haven't Made Progress In Contract Talks
2 years agoThe New York Yankees made no progress with outfielder Aaron Judge on a contract extension over the All-Star break. "The Yankees are willing to bump their offer of a $30.5 million salary, perhaps to $32.5 million or so. But there's no reason to believe Judge is lowering his ask from $36 million to something closer to $32.5 -- and no reason to believe they are any closer," Heyman said on Audacy Sports. Contract issues aside, Judge is the front-runner to win the American League MVP this year. He started off the second half of his season on the right foot during a doubleheader on Thursday by hitting his league-leading 34th homer of the season. The 30-year-old slugger is hitting .282/.366/.619 overall with a .985 OPS, the 34 homers, 73 RBI, 76 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 344 at-bats.
