Jacob deGrom To Make Another Rehab Start
2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (shoulder) will work out Sunday at Citi Field and will then make another minor league rehab start, according to manager Buck Showalter. deGrom tossed 60 pitches during a simulated game on Thursday. If the 34-year-old two-time Cy Young winner doesn't suffer any setbacks in his next rehab start, there's a good chance he'll be activated in order to make his 2022 season debut for the Mets. So far in three rehab starts for Single-A St. Lucie and Triple-A Syracuse, deGrom has allowed only an unearned run while striking out 15 and walking one in 8 2/3 frames. deGrom experienced some shoulder soreness last weekend after his last outing, prompting the Mets to be a little extra cautious.
