2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez (back) was scratched from the starting lineup Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays with back spasms. It should be noted that Martinez had a busy few days, flying to Los Angeles for the all-star game and then flying back to Boston for tonight's game. The Red Sox might just be giving the 34-year-old veteran an extra day to rest. Nevertheless, fantasy managers should keep an eye on the situation over the weekend and be prepared to replace Martinez if the injury worsens. That won't be easy, though, as the slugger owns a .302/.368/.481 slash line to go along with 51 runs, 38 RBI, and nine homers.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
