Josh Naylor Not Starting In Game 1
2 years agoCleveland Guardians first baseman/outfielder Josh Naylor is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. Naylor is getting a normal day of rest and should return to the starting lineup for the second game of the doubleheader. The 25-year-old left-handed slugger is having a very impressive season to this point, hitting .276/.329/.509 with an .838 OPS, 13 home runs, 50 RBI, 29 runs scored and a stolen base in 228 at-bats. Owen Miller is taking over at first base and hitting sixth against White Sox right-hander Johnny Cueto in Game 1. Miller is hitting .333 (7-for-21) in eight games over the last two weeks, but he also has only four home runs on the season in 275 at-bats for Cleveland.
