J.D. Martinez Still Out Saturday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder/designated hitter J.D. Martinez (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays after he was scratched from Friday's lineup due to back spasms. It's not a good sign that the 34-year-old slugger is already injured coming out of the All-Star break, but fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Martinez is hitting .302/.368/.481 this year with an .849 OPS, nine home runs, 38 RBI and 51 runs scored, so losing him for an extended period of time would hurt the Red Sox and fantasy managers alike. Franchy Cordero is serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth, while Bobby Dalbec starts at first base and is hitting sixth against Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah on Saturday.
