2 years agoWith safety Jordan Whitehead now on the New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Mike Edwards is expected to get the first crack at replacing him as a starter opposite Antoine Winfield this year. Logan Ryan and newcomer Keanu Neal will give head coach Todd Bowles the opportunity to show multiple looks in the secondary, including a dangerous dime package using Neal and other wrinkles in third-down situations. If a fifth safety were to make the final roster, it would be between second-year pro Troy Warner and undrafted rookie Nolan Turner. Edwards has proven to be a ball hawk in his three seasons with Tampa, recording five interceptions (two touchdowns) in 45 games played (11 starts), but he'll have to hold off Ryan by playing well early on.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
