2 years agoThe New York Mets reportedly contacted the Los Angeles Angles on a potential trade for two-way star player Shohei Ohtani. According to Jim Bowden of The Athletic, Mets general manager, Billy Eppler has contacted the Angels to check on the availability of Ohtani. Bowden doesn't believe the Angels will deal with the two-way star. "However, a team that misses out on Juan Soto could call the Angels, and their package of four or five elite-to-good prospects and young major leaguers might be enough for the Angels to make the deal," per Bowden. The 28-year-old will be a free agent after next season and is not expected to re-sign with the Angels. Ohtani is having a terrific season overall, slashing .256/.346/.486 with 20 home runs, 57 RBI, 53 runs, and 10 stolen bases while posting a 2.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 134 strikeouts over 93 1/3 innings. Stay tuned.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
