Antonio Gibson Working On Side Field
2 years agoWashington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson (hamstring) has opened up training camp working on a side field. He also missed a bit of mandatory minicamp in June with a hamstring twinge. Head coach Ron Rivera said Gibson is being held out due to "an abundance of caution." The 24-year-old's absence will allow J.D. McKissic and rookie third-rounder Brian Robinson to get more repetitions in camp for now. Gibson's fantasy stock has fallen heading into the 2022 season after McKissic chose to return and the team drafted Robinson in the third round. Gibson's 2021 gains were mostly due to volume, which he won't be guaranteed this year. Fantasy managers should consider him a low-end RB2.
