Vinnie Pasquantino Out With Thumb Discomfort
2 years agoKansas City Royals rookie first baseman/designated hitter Vinnie Pasquantino (thumb) is dealing with right thumb discomfort, which is why he's not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels. He felt it on a swing on Tuesday but is "feeling better today," according to skipper Mike Matheny. Fantasy managers should consider the 24-year-old day-to-day for now. Pasquantino has struggled in his first 25 major league games, going 19-for-90 (.211) with 17 strikeouts, three home runs, five RBI and eight runs scored in 104 plate appearances. Andrew Benintendi will serve as the designated hitter and bat third on Wednesday, while Ryan O'Hearn is at first base and hitting fifth against Angels right-hander Janson Junk.
