Mitch Trubisky To Get First Crack At Starting Job
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky is a great system fit for offensive coordinator Matt Canada's offense, and he is leading the team's QB competition this summer. Trubisky was expected to get the first crack at the starting job to replace the retired Ben Roethlisberger in 2022, so this shouldn't come as a huge surprise, even after the Steelers drafted Kenny Pickett in the first round this year. The 27-year-old Trubisky, a former first-rounder himself, hasn't started a game since his final season with the Chicago Bears in 2020, and he'll have a short leash in Pittsburgh with Pickett and Mason Rudolph lurking. Heading into this season, Trubisky will be a low-end QB2 in fantasy if he wins the starting job.
