Brian Robinson Expected To Handle Short-Yardage Situations
2 years agoThe Washington Commanders selected rookie running back Brian Robinson in the third round for his power and ball security, and at a minimum, he's expected to handle short-yardage work this year. Washington plans to find ways to get Antonio Gibson the ball in space, rather than force him inside. And the Commanders also re-signed pass-catching specialist J.D. McKissic. "He's a big, strong, powerful downhill runner, more so than anything else," head coach Ron Rivera said of Robinson. The rookie will receive ample work with the first-team offense early in training camp with the team ramping up Gibson's workload. Robinson may not have standalone fantasy value in 2022 unless Gibson misses time with injury, but his presence will cut into Gibson's workload, making him a risky RB2 in fantasy.
