Geno Smith Begins Camp With First-Team Offense
2 years agoSeattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith ran with the first-team offense at training camp practice on Wednesday, with Drew Lock working with the second-team. Lock did get a couple first-team repetitions with the starting offensive line in 11-man offensive drills without a defense present, however. Smith was in the lead in the QB competition after mandatory minicamp last month, so he's picking up where he left off. The 31-year-old has the early edge because of his familiarity with the system, but Lock has the more impressive physical tools. This is a competition that should continue deep into camp and the preseason, with the winner being nothing more than a low-end QB2 option in two-QB leagues.
