2 years agoBaltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said there's a pretty good chance that starting pitcher Tyler Wells (back) will land on the injured list, but the team will wait until he undergoes more testing on Thursday. The Orioles are calling Wells' injury a lower back/side ailment after he was forced from his outing early on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 27-year-old right-hander entered the day with a 3.69 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 63 strikeouts in 90 1/3 innings over 19 starts, and he allowed four earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts and no walks before leaving in the fifth inning. Wells has been good at limiting runs in his second big-league season, but a low strikeout rate and a 4.28 FIP don't give him a ton of upside the rest of the way.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
