Julio Jones Getting Involved Early
2 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting veteran wide receiver Julio Jones involved a lot in training camp practice right away. Quarterback Tom Brady has connected with him twice in red-zone passing drills in practice on Thursday. Remember, Chris Godwin (knee) isn't on the practice field yet despite avoiding the Physically Unable to Perform list. When all of Tampa's wideouts are healthy, Jones will be competing with Russell Gage for No. 3 duties behind Mike Evans and Godwin. The 33-year-old veteran looked done in Tennessee last year, but much of that had to do with lower-body injuries that Jones has dealt with in recent seasons. He'll surely have his moments with Brady in 2022 and he has more upside with the Bucs than he did with the Titans, but Jones is an injury risk that will most likely produce inconsistent results on a weekly basis.
