Yandy Diaz Starting On The Bench Thursday
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays infielder Yandy Diaz is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Baltimore Orioles. It will be his first game off in the second half of the season. Diaz has gone 7-for-24 (.292) with a homer, five RBI and three runs scored in six games to open the second half. The 30-year-old Cuban is hitting a strong .294 on the year, but he has just four home runs, 31 RBI, 43 runs scored and one stolen base in 306 at-bats. Isaac Paredes is starting at the hot corner on Thursday and is batting third against Orioles right-hander Jordan Lyles. Paredes is hitting just .223 on the year, but he's also added 14 long balls and 29 RBI in 179 at-bats, and he makes for a solid low-cost DFS play on Thursday.
