Kenny Pickett Struggles In Second Camp Practice
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett struggled in his second training camp practice on Thursday, throwing an interception on his first live, team-period repetition. He also had an interception to end Wednesday's practice. Pickett has consistently taken reps with the third-stringers, but the early struggles aren't a major cause for concern. Head coach Mike Tomlin isn't evaluating his options on a throw-by-throw basis. It's good news for Pickett as he heads into his first NFL season, but as of right now, Mitch Trubisky is the heavy favorite to start under center for the Steelers in Week 1. Trubisky won't have a very long leash, but there's a good chance Pickett could open the year as the No. 3 behind Trubisky and Mason Rudolph.
