2 years agoDenver Broncos second-year running back Javonte Williams has gotten the first look with the starters each day of training camp practice so far, but Melvin Gordon has also received some snaps with the starters as well. Head coach Nathaniel Hackett continues to say he sees an active role for both players in the offense. The Broncos have big plans for Williams, but Gordon was re-signed to help carry the load in the backfield. Last year, Gordon was often the nominal starter on game days, but that's likely to be flipped in 2022. Depending on the actual touch distribution on a weekly basis, Williams has clear RB1 upside in an offense that should be much more explosive with quarterback Russell Wilson at the controls.
