Yuli Gurriel Steals Sixth Base Thursday
2 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel went 1-for-3 with a run scored and his sixth stolen base of the season in Thursday's 4-2 win over the division-rival Seattle Mariners. His six stolen bases this year is a career-high after he swiped a combined six stolen bases in the last three seasons. Otherwise, the 38-year-old has been a bit of a disappointment with the bat for fantasy owners, slashing .238/.291/.390 with seven home runs, 27 RBI and 33 runs scored in 91 games for the first-place Astros. It comes after he hit a league-high .319 in 143 games in 2021. Gurriel has at least been better in July, going 21-for-76 (.276) with a homer, seven doubles, three steals and six RBI in 22 games.
