Jose Quintana Pitches Well In No-Decision
2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates left-hander Jose Quintana went 5 2/3 scoreless innings against the Philadelphia Phillies in a no-decision on Friday, allowing four hits while walking two and striking out four in the eventual 4-2 loss. The 33-year-old veteran southpaw further boosted his trade value ahead of Tuesday's deadline, and he's now sporting a 3.50 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 89 strikeouts and 31 walks in 103 innings over his 20 starts for the Pirates in 2022. He's had two rough outings against the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies in the month of July, but he's allowed just one earned run combined in his other three starts in the month. There's a good chance that Quintana will be changing teams before his next start.
