2 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan got blitzed by the San Diego Padres Friday night, giving up 10 runs on eight hits and two walks in 4 2/3 innings of work, including five home runs. He struck out seven batters. The loss drops his record for the year to 7-4. This is by far the worst outing of Ryan's season and his career. It balloons his ERA and WHIP to 3.78 and 1.11, which, while still respectable, are not enough to make up for only striking out 80 batters in 85 2/3 innings. Ryan will need to right the shift to remain worthy of consistent rostership.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
