George Springer Out Of The Lineup Sunday
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Detroit Tigers. Springer missed Friday's game with a minor elbow injury, but he returned on Saturday and went 0-for-3 with a run scored and a walk. He'll get a normal day of rest on Sunday in the series finale. Raimel Tapia will once again fill in for him in center field and will hit eighth against Tigers right-hander Garrett Hill. Tapia doesn't have a ton of power and isn't a high-upside DFS play at the bottom of the batting order, but he's been swinging a strong bat all season, slashing .284/.306/.410 with five home runs, 36 RBI, 30 runs scored and five stolen bases in 261 at-bats for Toronto.
