Jake McCarthy To See Most Of Playing Time In Left Field
2 years agoWith outfielder David Peralta being dealt to the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Jake McCarthy will get the "lion's share" of the available playing time in left field, according to general manager Mike Hazen. McCarthy has been very productive since returning from Triple-A Reno earlier in the month, going 11-for-35 (.314) with five doubles, three walks and two steals. The 25-year-old should at least be in the starting lineup against right-handed pitchers on a regular basis for the Snakes. In 118 at-bats overall in 2022, he's hitting .263/.315/.432 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 24 runs scored and four stolen bases, making him certainly worth a pickup in deeper leagues.
