Starling Marte Resting Sunday
2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Starling Marte is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Miami Marlins. Marte will receive a break after starting the team's last nine games. Since the All-Star break, he's hitting .367 (11-for-30) with two home runs, five RBI and five runs scored in seven games to raise his season line to a very strong .301/.349/.477 with an .825 OPS, 11 home runs, 46 RBI, 57 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 342 at-bats in his first year in Queens. Tyler Naquin is starting in right field and is hitting sixth on Sunday against Marlins right-hander Pablo Lopez. Naquin went 0-for-4 in his first game for the Mets since being acquired in a trade with the Reds, but he hit .246 with seven home runs and 33 RBI in 56 games for Cincy this year before the trade.
