Brewers Have Discussed Joey Gallo
2 years agoThe New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers have discussed outfielder Joey Gallo, who may fit Milwaukee much better than New York City. The Brewers were in on outfielder Andrew Benintendi before the Royals dealt him to the Yankees, and they could use another outfielder. USA TODAY's Bob Nightengale mentioned the Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays as other possibilities to trade for Gallo before Tuesday's deadline. The 28-year-old left-handed slugger has been an absolute failure in his second season in the Bronx, hitting .159/.282/.339 with 12 home runs, 24 RBI, 32 runs scored, two stolen bases and 106 strikeouts in 273 plate appearances, but perhaps a change of scenery would get him going again.
