Miles Sanders Still The Eagles' Starter
2 years agoDespite seeing virtually all his practice time with the second-team offense at training camp on Friday, Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders "is our guy," according to head coach Nick Sirianni. Sanders is the 12th leading running back in the NFL over the last three years with 2,439 yards, and his 5.1 yards-per-carry average is second-highest behind Jonathan Taylor. Sirianni said the team rotates their backs to make sure everyone stays in the rotation. Kenneth Gainwell was working with the first team on Friday. Sanders had 912 scrimmage yards on 163 touches in 12 games last year, but he failed to find the end zone, and the Eagles will continue to mix in Gainwell and Boston Scott. Sanders should remain the Eagles' primary backfield option in 2022, and he'll be a low-end RB2.
