2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel agreed to a three-year, $73.5 million extension, including $58.1 million in guarantees. The 26-year-old was a top fantasy producer last season, accumulating 1,405 yards and six touchdowns off 77 catches (121 targets). He also got some work out of the backfield, rushing for 365 yards off 59 attempts while adding eight more trips to the end zone. It was a roller coaster offseason for Samuel, who was expected to be moved after requesting a trade. However, he will stay with the Niners, which is good news for the developing Trey Lance. Nonetheless, although Samuel will remain a sought-after fantasy option heading into the 2022-23 campaign, he reportedly expressed a desire to see less work as a running back. As a result, the former Gamecock may see a dip in production, especially if Lance doesn't significantly improve upon his 57.7% completion percentage from his rookie year.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
