Matt Manning To Rejoin Team Tuesday
2 years agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Matt Manning (shoulder) is set to rejoin the team on Tuesday after a strong minor league rehab outing for Triple-A Toledo last Wednesday. Manning walked two and struck out six and threw 57 of his 85 pitches for strikes in 5 2/3 scoreless innings. "It's the best stuff he's had," manager A.J. Hinch said. "I think he held it the entire time. The performance matched the stuff. It was why we gave him an extra start in Triple-A." Whenever Manning slots back into the team's starting rotation, it will be his first start for the team since April 16, when he allowed a run over two innings against the Kansas City Royals. The 24-year-old is likely to get the start on Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins, where he'll be a pretty risky fantasy streamer.
