2 years agoIf all goes according to plan, San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (wrist) will begin a minor league rehab assignment this weekend. He is scheduled to take live batting practice on Monday, and the Padres are still taking it day by day with him. The 23-year-old superstar is trying to return from a surgically repaired left wrist after fracturing it in a motorcycle accident in the offseason. The Friars aren't going to rush him back, meaning he could have a somewhat lengthy rehab assignment before making his 2022 season debut around the middle of August. Tatis has the ability to be a difference-maker for fantasy managers down the stretch after he hit .282/.364/.611 with a .975 OPS, a league-leading 42 home runs, 97 RBI, 99 runs scored and 25 stolen bases in just 130 games in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
