Michael Thomas Expected To Be Saints' WR1
2 years agoESPN's Mike Triplett expects New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) to be the team's WR1, but his fantasy ceiling is a trickier question since we don't know how long it will take him to return to peak physical form after missing all of the 2021 season due to his ankle injury. Thomas' return to training camp practice on Day 1 was a step in the right direction, but he will also be splitting time alongside Jarvis Landry and first-round rookie Chris Olave. He'll also be playing with a different style of quarterback in Jameis Winston, who might not pepper him with targets the same way Drew Brees and Teddy Bridgewater did. The 29-year-old shouldn't be expected to return to being the best receiver in the game like he was before his injury in 2020, but he can be a solid WR3 in fantasy at a discounted price.
