Diontae Johnson "Holding In" During Training Camp
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson still figures to be the top receiver on the team in 2022, but he's going to be catching passes from a new quarterback after Ben Roethlisberger's retirement. Johnson is also missing time early in training camp while "holding in" while looking for a new contract, giving rookies George Pickens and Calvin Austin III more opportunities to build chemistry with quarterbacks Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph. The 26-year-old Johnson may not see the lion's share of the targets like he did last year when he set career-highs with 107 receptions, 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns in 16 games. Johnson will be targeted as a high-end WR2 in fantasy drafts, but he could be a bit of a bust given the team's new QB situation.
