2 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer has been notified he's in the agreed-upon deal between the Padres and Washington Nationals that would send outfielder Juan Soto and first baseman Josh Bell to San Diego. However, the Nationals are on his no-trade list and he hasn't consented yet. The deal for Soto and Bell will go through either way, according to sources, but Hosmer is in a tough spot. The Padres are trying to stay under the luxury tax threshold with their acquisition of Soto, hence Hosmer's inclusion in the deal. Hosmer has three years and $39 million left on his deal.
