2 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays are talking to the Los Angeles Angels about starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard and closer Raisel Iglesias with the trade deadline approaching on Tuesday. The Philadelphia Phillies have also been linked to Syndergaard, but general manager Dave Dombrowski isn't often a buyer of rental players like Thor. Syndergaard has been solid in his first year with the Angels, posting a 3.83 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP with a 64:22 K:BB in 80 innings over his 15 starts, but he has struggled to get run support from the lowly Angels offense. That probably wouldn't be as much of a problem in Toronto. Iglesias has a 4.04 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 16 saves and 48 strikeouts in 35 2/3 innings as the Halos closer, but he'd become a top-end setup arm in Toronto in front of closer Jordan Roman if he was dealt to the Jays.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
