2 years agoThe New York Yankees placed new starting pitcher Frankie Montas on the bereavement list on Wednesday due to a death in his family. The Yankees acquired Montas from the Oakland Athletics on Monday, and he has yet to appear in a game in pinstripes. The 29-year-old right-hander was one of the biggest names on the trade market this year behind Luis Castillo, and he'll certainly make New York's rotation stronger down the stretch. Montas will be away from the team for a few days before rejoining them this weekend for a series against the St. Louis Cardinals. However, it remains to be seen if he'll actually make his debut for the Yankees against the Cardinals. Stay tuned.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
