2 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Houston Astros. After not being dealt at Tuesday's trade deadline, the right-handed slugger will take a normal day off. Martinez is hitting .284 on the season with nine home runs, 40 RBI and 52 runs scored, but he's been cold since the All-Star break, going 3-for-30 (.100) with no homers, two RBI and eight strikeouts in eight games. His fantasy managers will be hoping that an off day on Wednesday can get him going again. Rafael Devers, who just returned from the injured list on Tuesday, will serve as the DH and bat third on Wednesday against Astros right-hander Jose Urquidy, with Christian Arroyo manning third and batting sixth.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
