2 years agoSan Francisco Giants skipper Gabe Kapler said that there's a "good chance" that third baseman Evan Longoria (hamstring) will come off the injured list during the series that starts next Monday against the San Diego Padres. Longoria has been out since late July with a Grade 1 hamstring injury, but the injury doesn't look serious enough to keep him out past the designated 10 days. There's a chance that the 36-year-old is sent on a short minor league rehab assignment over the weekend to get his legs back under him. The three-time All-Star has played in only 49 games for the Gigantes this year due to injuries and hasn't played in more than 81 games in the previous two seasons. On top of it in 2022, he's hit a very mediocre .243/.331/.459 with nine home runs, 19 RBI and 21 runs scored in 148 at-bats.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
