Clayton Kershaw Leaves Thursday's Game Early With Injury
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw (back) left his start early on Thursday against the San Francisco Giants after warming up for the fifth inning with an apparent back injury. Kershaw didn't even wait for the trainer or manager Dave Roberts to get to the mound before walking off. Kershaw gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk while striking out four in his four innings of work before departing. The 34-year-old has a history of back issues, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him land on the injured list. He also missed almost a month with SI joint inflammation earlier this year. The future Hall of Famer has been his normal solid self when on the mound this year, entering the day with a 2.66 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP and an 84:14 K:BB in 81 1/3 innings over his 14 starts. Stay tuned for more details on Kershaw's condition.
