2 years agoAtlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker said that right-hander Mike Soroka (Achilles) will begin throwing simulated games soon, but no date has been given yet for a minor league rehab assignment. Soroka suffered a setback in his recovery when he was hit by a comebacker in the knee while throwing live batting practice in July. The plan was always to have Soroka potentially return to the starting rotation at some point in September, though, so his ultimate timetable for a return probably hasn't changed all that much. The 25-year-old made just three starts in 2020 before his injury and is unlikely to have a shot to be a difference-maker in fantasy to close out this season. It would be nice if Soroka was an option for the Braves if they make the postseason, but that would be the icing on the cake for Atlanta.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
