2 years agoHouston Astros right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. (forearm), who was injured in last year's postseason, will make his fourth minor league rehab start for Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday and could then face a decision on whether he's ready to be activated from the injured list. McCullers allowed two earned runs on three hits while striking out five and walking three in 3 1/3 innings for Sugar Land in his previous rehab start on Aug. 2. The 28-year-old tossed 76 pitches, so he's close to being fully built up for a starting role. Although he led the majors with 76 walks in 28 starts last year, McCullers also had a 3.16 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP and a career-high 185 strikeouts in 162 1/3 innings. McCullers could be a difference-maker for fantasy managers to close out the second half of the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
