David Bell Comes Off PUP List
2 years agoThe Cleveland Browns activated rookie wide receiver David Bell (foot) off the Physically Unable to Perform list on Saturday. The third-round pick out of Purdue was a consensus All-American in 2021 and is an intriguing prospect that could earn playing time early as a slot option for the Browns with Jarvis Landry now in New Orleans. Bell is returning from a stress fracture in his foot, so he's likely to be eased into training camp practices. Amari Cooper will be the team's clear No. 1 receiver, but Bell and Anthony Schwartz (knee) have opportunity to take on big roles this season, albeit in a run-first offense that will be without quarterback Deshaun Watson for at least six games. Bell probably will be left to the waiver wire in standard 12-team leagues to begin the season, but he's one to watch as the year progresses.
