Alex Kirilloff Done For The Season
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Alex Kirilloff (wrist) will undergo season-ending wrist surgery to shorten his ulnar bone, with the goal of being ready for spring training next year. Wrist issues have really set Kirilloff back, as he's dealt with wrist injuries in three of the last four seasons. He also missed all of 2017 in the minors after undergoing Tommy John surgery, so Kirilloff just hasn't been able to stay on the field to reach his true ceiling. All of his wrist injuries could really sap the 24-year-old's power in the long term, even if he returns healthy for the start of the 2023 season. In his two major league seasons with the Twins, he's hit .251/.295/.398 with only 11 home runs, 55 RBI, 37 runs scored and a stolen base in 387 plate appearances over 104 games.
