Kerry Carpenter To Be Promoted And Will DH Wednesday
2 years agoMLB.com's Jason Beck reported Tuesday that the Detroit Tigers will promote outfielder Kerry Carpenter from Triple-A Toledo for Wednesday's game against the Guardians. He will make his MLB debut as a designated hitter. Daz Cameron will be optioned in a corresponding move. The 24-year-old Carpenter has hit for both average and power in the minors this season, collecting 30 home runs and 75 RBI in 396 plate appearances across Double-A and Triple-A. He specifically has slashed .342/.433/.667 in 134 plate appearances with Triple-A. Carpenter sounds like an intriguing fantasy prospect, but fantasy managers in redraft leagues should wait to see what he can do in the big leagues before considering him for a roster spot.
