Quez Watkins Leads Eagles In Receiving Yards
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins reeled in two receptions on three targets for 32 yards in Friday's 24-21 preseason loss to the New York Jets. He led the Eagles' starting rotation during their lone drive to open the game against the New York Jets in receiving yards. The third-year slot receiver opened the game with a 28-yard reception from quarterback Jalen Hurts, setting Philadelphia up inside the 35-yard line with a four-yard reception later in the drive. Even though the Eagles signed former Colts slot receiver Zach Pascal during the offseason, Watkins has retained his role as the starter, even playing a few snaps with the second-team offense last night. The amount of passing in Philadelphia is likely lower than most of the league. Still, the 24-year-old could become a fantasy contributor now that opposing defenses must focus on A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert.
