Amari Rodgers Makes Biggest Impact On Special Teams
2 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Amari Rodgers caught one pass for 22 yards in Friday's preseason loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He also rushed for four yards on one attempt. The former third-round pick is battling to climb his way up the depth chart and earn a role. Rodgers enters his sophomore season hoping his familiarity with the system and quarterback Aaron Rodgers will give him an edge. The 22-year-old was not mainly involved in the offensive game plan on Friday, generating only 26 total yards. He did, however, have a really nice kickoff return on special teams for 50 yards. His ability to return kicks and punts should secure him a roster spot, but he'll need to make more of an impact in the passing game if he wants to be a top-three starter in Week 1.
