J.D. McKissic Will Miss Saturday’s Contest
2 years agoWashington Commanders running back J.D. McKissic (groin) will be sidelined for Saturday's Week 2 of the preseason outing vs. Kansas City due to groin tightness. Washington has little reason to push the 29-year-old, who has emerged as a unique offensive weapon over the past two seasons. McKissic's absence -- combined with the likelihood that Antonio Gibson will not be significantly pushed -- paves the way for Jaret Patterson, Jonathan Williams and Brian Robinson to take on elevated roles against the Chiefs. McKissic was limited to 11 games last year, yet still managed to produce over 600 yards from scrimmage, adding two rushing and two receiving scores. The veteran's fantasy viability is largely dictated by PPR scoring due to his high volume pass-catching ability. His final chance to suit up during the preseason comes next Saturday vs. Baltimore.
