2 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Tyler Mahle (shoulder) is headed to the 15-day IL with right shoulder inflammation. The Twins have been debating whether they wanted to leave Mahle on the active roster and see if he is feeling better later next week, but ended up placing him on the IL with no clear return date laid out. Mahle felt soreness in his right shoulder in his start on Wednesday, and although he told reporters he is feeling better, the Twins are opting to play it safe. This is probably the right call considering Mahle missed time earlier this season with a shoulder strain. Hopefully the 27-year-old doesn't miss much time, as he has looked sharp since the beginning of June, sporting a 3.05 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 68 strikeouts over 65 IP. Fantasy managers will need a replacement for next week, and should keep an eye on Mahle's status while he recovers.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
