MLB DFS Prop Picks for 8/21/22
Alek Manoah over 5.5 strikeouts- The Yankees have been striking out quite a bit vs. right-handers in recent days and are currently posting a 27.8% K rate over the previous two weeks. Manoah has gone over this total in two of his three starts against the Yankees this season and has racked up 19 strikeouts across 17 1/3 innings pitched in those games.
Sean Manaea over 5.5 strikeouts - Manaea will be facing the Nationals, who have posted a 27.9% k rate vs. southpaws over the previous two weeks, which ranks seventh-worst in baseball over that span. Manaea has eclipsed this total in three of his previous four starts as well.
Joe Ryan over 5.5 strikeouts - Ryan has hit this total in four of his previous five starts and should be in a great spot to do it against the Rangers today. Over the previous two weeks, Texas has posted a 24.4% K rate vs. right-handers, which is ranked eighth-worst in the league. They have also posted a sub-100 wRC+ mark, which should help Ryan stay in the game a bit longer as well.
Jose Quintana over 4.5 strikeouts - Quintana has gone over this total in two of his previous three starts and will be facing the Diamondbacks today, which is fantastic news for his K prop. Over the previous two weeks, Arizona has been striking out at a rate of 33.3%, which is ranked second-worst in baseball. they have also posted a miserable 2.7% walk rate and a 15 wRC+ mark. The matchup simply does get much better here.
