Marcus Mariota Leads Falcons On Two Scoring Drives
2 years agoAtlanta Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota played three series in Monday night's 24-16 loss against the New York Jets. He had a strong showing against the Jets, completing six of 10 passes for 132 yards and a 13-yard touchdown to receiver Olamide Zaccheaus with 5:20 to go in the first quarter. It was nice to see Mariota play the entire first quarter after throwing only two passes in the Falcons' first preseason game. The Falcons have already named Mariota the Week 1 starter. However, it is seems like only a matter of time until rookie Desmond Ridder takes over. Until then, Mariota is a solid low-end QB2 for fantasy managers in superflex or two-QB leagues.
