Fernando Tatis Jr. Will Have Shoulder Surgery
2 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (shoulder), who is already out for the rest of the 2022 season while serving an 80-game suspension, announced on Tuesday that he'll undergo shoulder surgery. Tatis decided not to have shoulder surgery last offseason, but it makes sense for him to get it out of the way now. The 23-year-old star wasn't ready for the start of this year after fracturing his wrist while riding a motorcycle, and he was nearing his return to the lineup before his 80-game suspension was announced. Tatis' stock is down after all of his injuries and now with his lengthy suspension, but as long as he's healthy heading into the 2023 campaign, he should be one of the highest-upside young players in baseball.
